RoanokePride, Inc. is the guiding force behind the season-long series of activities and events known collectively as Pride.
The centerpiece of our Pride celebration is the Festival Pride in the Park. Since it's inception in 1989, this gathering is the largest annual gay, lesbian, bisexual, transgender event in Western Virginia.
RoanokePride, Inc. is proud to bring professional entertainment to our community each year! As an all-volunteer, non-profit organization, Roanoke Pride, Inc. uses all donations to fund various activities, including Pride in the Park.
Additionally, donations from the proceeds are made to various LGBT organizations throughout Western Virginia each year. With your generous help, we hope to increase the monies donated back into the community, as well as continue to host LGBT events with famous and local talent. Your sponsorship and/or donation is greatly appreciated!
Roanoke Pride, Inc is a proud member of InterPride, the international association of Pride Event organizers. InterPride exists to promote Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual and Transgender Pride on an international level, to increase networking and communication among Pride Organizations, to encourage diverse communities to hold and attend Pride Events and to act as a source of education.
The Lambda Service Awards
Roanoke Pride, Inc. awards annually the Lambda Service Awards, on its mentions of individual (for a person who his or her work has been outstanding in our society promoting, enhancing and supporting the LGTB Community) and the Community Service Award (for outstanding achievement of an organization). These annual awards are given to deserving community members and groups that are nominated by the very public that they serve. We encourage our community to promote a member of our community to be awarded with this honor. Nominations may be made through the Awards page.

Sponsorship and donations of dollars, services and products has become increasingly important to keep Pride growing! Surveys reveal that gays & lesbians are fiercely loyal to those businesses that advertise their products and services in our publications and participate in our events. Pride in the Park is a great venue to sell your products or feature your non-profit organization to the LGTB community! You will be in a beautiful, shady park setting with hundreds of our own relaxed and mingling for hours.
